When I first met Daniel he was some big deal at the local art museum. He was wearing a well pressed shirt and ran with lovely girls who wore black and knew how to apply eyeliner.
We wouldn’t have been friends in high school.
We interacted here and there, I didn’t want to let on to what an cyber dork I was thus dispelling this idea he may have had that I was cool enough to run in his crowd.
Almost a year later when Daniel approached me about working together on a couple of different projects I did what any person does when they meet someone new. I googled him.
He’s delivered keynotes in New Zealand, spoken at Princeton, been to various events in Singapore and London and worked with a little place known as the Louvre.
I don’t even have a passport.
I knew nothing Daniel’s professional achievements when I met him, I just knew he was a nice guy. Even after googling him and being well aware of his professional prowess…to me he’s still just a nice guy.
A nice guy with a camera, a lovely family, a passion for soccer and a great head of hair (seriously, there’s been articles written about it.)
You can find Daniel on his blog here and on flickr here. And don’t forget twitter.
